Meet MAJD
MAJD SEEKER
A trainer for clarinet and Arabic music theory at the Canadian Arabic Conservatory and a member of the Canadian Arabic Orchestra.
The setting up of clarinet implies a strong learning curve which is a wonderful experience to live. The instrument in itself is a wonder and mastering it is a breeze…

Majid performed with famous Arabic Singers on many stages in Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Algeria and moved to Canada in 2016 to shortly start performing on stage in different Canadian cities and with renowned international and Arabic singers and composers. He also gave master’s classes at the University of Toronto and york university in Arabic music theory and how to incorporate the clarinet in middle eastern music. LESSONS AND WORKSHOPS
APPROACH
The approach is different depending on whether the participant has experience or not. In order to give a large yet close approach to the instrument, the participants will go through these routines:
- Each course begins with individual work around respiration and sound, through posture work. Sound resonance in the body is indeed appealing to and to the sensing.
- The right placement of the body and the control of the various breaths (ventral, Intercostal) are essential for the practice of wind instruments.
- Exercises on sounds, arpeggios, and the exercises of digital techniques are also taught.
INSTRUMENTS
Clarinette is the main instrument though for specific occasions (spectacles, Music Festival) we gather large instrumental ensembles with the clarinet, piano, guitar, violin, singing…
