Meet OMAR
OMAR ZIAD
The artist Omar Ziad was born in Baghdad, at the age of 6 years he learned to play Qanun at the Music and Ballet School of Baghdad.
Graduate of the Institute of Musical Studies in Baghdad and the Arab Al-Ud House in Cairo/Qanun section. He got a Bachelor’s from the Arab Open University in America.
He worked as a professor of the Qanun instrument at the Institute of Musical Studies in Baghdad and is now a professor of Qanun at the Academy of Beautiful Arts in the United Arab Emirates and at the Academy of International Arts and Heritage in Canada.
As a member of the East band, founded by the able artist Nasser Shamha, Omar Ziad participated in several Arab and global festivals.
